Pallant House Gallery Annual Review Design
Profile Design have just completed work on the Annual Review 2023 for Pallant House Gallery.
Without doubt Pallant House Gallery houses one of the best collections of 20th century British art in the world. The foundation of the Gallery’s collection comprises works donated to Chichester by Walter Hussey in 1977 including works by Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, John Piper, Ceri Richards and Graham Sutherland. Other benefactors have bequethed works including among others works by: Paul Cézanne, André Derain, Fernand Léger, and Gino Severini, Michael Andrews together with Peter Blake, David Bomberg, Patrick Caulfield, Lucian Freud, Richard Hamilton, R. B. Kitaj, Eduardo Paolozzi, Walter Sickert and Victor Willing. What’s more, in 2018 works by Young British Artists including Butterfly by Damien Hirst were donated.
The finished design and artwork for the 2022 – 2023 annual reviewe adheres to the branding guide for the Gallery which we aere provided with. Profile Design were given licence to explore design solutions within that framework. As you would expect from a renowned gallery there were plenty of great images to carry the design. Fortunately the client that didn’t overload the pages with excessive text. This makes for a very colourful, visual and easily accessible end product. One of the requests within the brief was to make the main stats in each section visible, to that end, this was achieved by reverse blocking them and overlaying onto images.
